About me

Hello. I’m Chris, a freelance Certified WinCC OA Consultant and Chartered Engineer.

I have been working with control systems since 2004 and have a passion for designing and developing effective solutions.

In 2017 I became a freelancer specialising in Siemens WinCC OA, a highly technical and scalable SCADA solution.

I bring experience and expertise to my client's teams, assisting them to efficiently create SCADA systems.

I can assist with capturing requirements and consulting on specific features and architectures. I can highlight the most challenging requirements and potential solutions at an early stage which can result in significant savings to the project.

Documentation

I can develop or assist with the development of all project lifecycle documentation, including traceability. Documentation and its clarity is key to passing gateways and avoiding misunderstanding of system functionality.

I can offer support to your engineers who may be new to WinCC OA. Following their basic training from ETM, I can provide further insight and advice on best practice to make sure your project is a high quality, easily maintainable solution.

My Experience

I have designed and developed WinCC OA systems for the following:

UK Defence projects.

The Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines.

Heathrow Airport Baggage System.

Heathrow Airport Fire Alarm System.

I have experience with the following system architectures:

Single server with next generation archiving.

Dual redundant servers with RIAMA archiving.

Distributed dual redundant servers with Oracle archiving.

Distributed disaster recovery system (2x2 redundancy) with Oracle archiving.

I have undertaken the following ETM training:

2020 WinCC OA Certified Consultant.

2015 WinCC OA Certified Engineer (including safety).
